I popped into the restaurant today so I could take some pictures to show you and I was welcomed by lots of smiling faces. At first I thought my flies were undone, but it transpires that all the staff are really liking the pictures and they're plotting to try and smuggle them home with them :o)
It was a relief. Not just that my flies were up, but to find that people are really enjoying these pictures. Happy days :o)
The guys there were saying that they've had a lot of positive feedback on all the pictures... In particular for Amphetheatre and for Robot Head
Here are some of the pictures I took earlier

On Saturday 14th February we did an installation in First Edition, a restaurant/wine bar in the middle of Canary Wharf.
You can tell First Edition is not your normal restaurant as soon as you walk in the door. The two things tat strike you are how light and airy the 2 tiers are and how much character the place has. The bar seems light and white when you walk in, but then you see the layers of texture from the distressed style wooden floor to the 'cubby holes' with privacy curtains which wouldn't look amiss in an exclusive Mediterranean locale.
I approached Pamela Schneider (the owner) late last year to see if I could exhibit some of my Canvas My Art pictures and I found out there was an 18 month waiting list, but the person scheduled for Jan/Feb had just pulled out and so I was able to fill their place.
Fast forward 3 months and I'm standing in a deserted restaurant (bar the Pamela and my girlfriend) on a sunny valentines Saturday afternoon with 13 canvases, some hooks and some labels for each picture. 90 minutes later we're walking out and I'm feeling very nervous about putting some of my art in such a highly visible place.
I'm less sensitive about My 'normal' photography as it's normally for a client with a specific requirement, but my Canvas My Art pictures come from a completely different creative process and post-processing style altogether, so I was feeling oddly vulnerable.
2 of the 13 pictures I supplied were from my newly signed Artist Sue Dunsworth and so I placed my favourite one (Awakening) in the most prominent place in the restaurant. Here's hoping the are all well received and that they at the bare minimum cheer up the local workers and visitors to Canary Wharf.
I'll pop back later in the week during a quiet time to take some pictures of the art in place and post them here
Some amazing new images are being added to the site in the next day or two from our newest artist, Sue Dunworth.
Sue's tequnique involes painting directly onto silk and her work is truly amazing.
I photographed a selection of Sue's work and we'll be uploading them to the site shortly. Below is a sample I made for Sue so she could see how an enlarged canvas would come out against the original.
Here is the 32"x24" sample print compared to the original
Some amazing new images have been added to the site and some older ones have been removed.
Our favourites of the new images are the Ghost Shark and the School Bus
We've just finished our corporate installation for Fernando's hair studio which we started June 15th (see below)
Jo had a very specific image of what he wanted in mind and we were glad that we were able to realise his vision and turn it into a reality for him. It took a while for it to meet what was in his head, but we got there in the end
Below are pictures of the installation taking place
We're back. I've downloaded all my pictures from my data storage and data cards and have begun sorting through the gigabytes of images so we can offer you some new scenic, breath taking, quirky, abstract, pop-art images
To get these images, I was all over the place. Late nights and early mornings catching sunsets and sunrises, and dispite splitting my most expensive polariser (just before leaving for the plane), another one was sourced in Las Vagas so I could get the images I needed.
My sorting though the images and getting them print worthy will take a little time and they'll appear on the site in due course.
Make sure you look out for the HDR (High Dynamic Range) images I've taken. I've processed a couple and they look amazing
In fact, the first (normal) image has been put on the site already... see here
CMA
CMA have been working like mad for the last couple of months and, so we can put our feet up for a bit, we've decided to go off on a creative sabbatical. There'll be lots of well earned relaxing and fun, but I'm taking my camera kit with me so I can capture some amazing images during our travels (Grand Canyon, Rocky Mountains, Las Vagas, etc...)
Once we come back, we'll find the best of my images and add them to my CallumW gallery.
As we'll be away, we won't be manufacturing prints, but we shall resume when we return on the 1st Sept.
We've just uploaded 7 new pictures to our CallumW gallery.
1 new HyperWay image in a landscape format (but also looks amazing as panoramic). We've also added 6 digital urban abstracts in 2 colours Red and Blue.
Prabha Shiyani Prints and Paintings now available.
We've just uploaded 2 new pictures from up-and-coming artist Prabha Shiyani. Prabha's paintings are very organic and textural and make amazing centerpieces to any room.
Not only do we have the rites to sell her prints, but we've also been trusted to sell these 2 original paintings too. An honour indeed
The originals are currently hanging in a private collection and there are no plans to have them shown in a public gallery.
Below are thumbnails of the paintings you can purchase
We've just started to receive our first CD's from some of our Exclusive Artists and so we'll be going through them shortly to pick the best images to put up on the site
We were contacted recently by Conch Press to create some canvases for them to be used in their marketing campaign for 2 new book releases
Food Magician by Catherine Warrington is a book to help bring the fun of cooking simple, wholesome and nutritious dishes to children. Each recipe is written like a magic spell and all the ingredients used in the book are super-healthy with no extra sugars or additives.
Ethical Elephants is a book which tells the tale of eight elephants who each characterise eight key earth elements. Each of their tales tell how living a life with respect for nature returns magical rewards. Hogarth Brown created the amazing illustrations for the book and is also the artist behind the Ethical Elephant canvas artwork
The books are scheduled to be released in August and Conch requested that we create their posters as canvases rather than paper or posterboard as this adheres more to their organic ethical standpoint and motivation behind their publications
After much work we managed to get our website live with a secure payment system
in place and all the bells and whistles installed and ready to go.
We've started with just one item in our Canvas-My-Art Gallery and will be expanding
that as soon as we get a chance to properly go through our photo library
We still have more polishing to do on the site which we'll do over the coming months
We're still working towards getting the site up and running, but before we could
take a breath we've been fielding canvas requests - which is great news :o)
A good example is a chain of hairdressing shops which commissioned us to
manufacture for them a custom image following a recent revamp of their shops
The shop rebuild was done in a contempory style with lots of neutral whites
and blacks and Jo Callari (the Ashford shop manager) had a clear idea of
what style he was looking for.
So we discussed concepts, colours and sizes and we came back a day later with 33 images in a bespoke online art gallery to give him an idea of what we can create.
He was very pleased with the initial concepts and is presenting them to the
chain owner for the final style selection and colour adjustments
